happy weekend

Just loved the long weekend due to the "Sukkot"-holiday. It was so nice to be at home and spend time with the girls and my husband, with friends and family.
Yesterday in particular was a nice day- even though hot and humid.
I even managed to continue a bit with the advent calendar and my husband found some wooden boards on a construction site and suddenly he couldn't stop to saw; making a wooden boat, a swing, houses (for me) and blocks for the kids. Now we just need to get some colour and we can start to paint all this stuff.
On the picture my older daughter is taking a nap outside- she just crashed after a trip to the sea.

getting started

Last year I made plans, but did not manage-now I want to try to get it done this year: An advent calendar for the girls.

So far I just cut the pieces that will be the pockets. I have two months to go- let's hope it will be finished until the beginning of December...

wooden toys

I just found a nice company from Switzerland. They are called "momol" and they design wooden toys for kids. The parts of the toys are without nails or screws and you can combine them freely. I imagine it would be so great to have :o)
Something I might keep in mind for christmas presents.

back from Switzerland

Since Tuesday we are back from Switzerland- and I am already missing the lush green, the fresh air, the mountains and of course my family there.

Here a picture of my older daughter Neomi:

She is always excited to go and visit Switzerland- most of all I guess because she can ride the train, bus and tram- and this time also the cable car in the alps where we stayed for my fathers 60. birthday.

Of course I am still full of ideas and with no time to really get something done. Today I managed to finish a small card for my mother's birthday:

I have to admit, that I took my inspiration from somehwere else... I just tried to figure out her name or find her etsy shop or her flickr site... but I came up with nothing. If I will figure it out, I will let you know.

**** I found it!- Take a look at the gorgeous prints of Bernadette from New Zealand in her blog!
