We have beautiful autumn weather. Perfect for kite flying. That's what the whole Kibbutz did on Saturday. Yesterday I made with the girls some nice kites asa window decoration. I cut out the frames from thick paper, attached the frame to sticky contact paper and the girls filled the empty spots with tissue paper pieces. We added a tail and now they decorate the windows in the girls rooms. I love how the warm autumn sun is illuminating the colours!

With a bit of a delay here the pictures of the decoration for our "sukka". Sukkot is over- we had some nice days off from work- to enjoy with family and friends.
We built a sukka under our pergola. Well- it would not stand up to all the rules, but this is not so important to us. One side we covered with palm leafs, one side with a sheet and one side with stripes of fabric.I made with the girl this easy and fun decoration from egg-cartons. Cut them, paint them and string them. For space between the "flowers" we cut drinking straws in pieces and strung them too.

The jewish New Year (Rosh Hashana) just started. We started the year traditionally with lots of apples dipped in honey- this should provide a sweet new year. There are other symbols for the new year- one is the pomengranade. They are hanging red and ripe on the trees now. A lovely fruit- by look and taste.
I made with the girls simple cards. We stamped with potatoes and the back of pencils. I found the idea here and it was easy and fun for both Neomi and Helen.
I wish you all a happy new year. May it be a peaceful one for everyone!
Thankfully everything is (still) quiet here. And I hope it will stay that way. Time to post some pictures of a craft Neomi came up with. Neomi and Helen love the movie "Rapunzel". So one day Neomi decided that she wants to make a Rapunzel out of a toilet paper roll. Her prototype had eyes made of pompom. So when I found some plastic eyes we made two more rapunzels- also with attached arms that you can move up and down.
I loved the simplicity of the doll.
