if

Yes... I am daydreaming all the time- especially at work. I am dreaming about all the nice things I would like to sew and draw and create. I have this huge urge to create and just not enough time- it can be very frustrating.

One thing I managed to do in the last days is the "baby-announcement-card" for my sister. She is due to give birth in October and I had the honour to draw something for her. Of course I won't show all the picture but I will allow you a glimps:

This week we will fly to Switzerland to visit my family and I am already very much looking forward. I am not sure if I will have time to write something during the time we are there- but I will try my best.

lovely dolls

I just have to share this.

On flickr I stumbled over "Fröken Skicklig"- Juliane from Sweden who is doing these wonderful dolls! She's also teaching e-classes and I put this on my wish-list for a day when I will have some spare time and some spare money.

In the mean time I just love to look at these cute little creatures...

Take a look at her blog here.

hearty jeans

I had some spare time yesterday to finish the pants for my older daughter. I used a pair of jeans of my husband that had holes. I just love the combination of blue jeans and red fabric with white dots- can't get enough of it. Now my daughter has some long pants for next week when we will fly to Switzerland to visit my family- after many months of warm weather here most of her long clothes are not fitting anymore.

pants for Helen

Inspired by Ketiketa (see my blog entry) I sew pants (or however you want to call this) for my younger daughter Helen. I used a very light fabric from an old skirt of mine- perfect for hot days. The length of the shoulder straps can be varied- they are tied in the front.

It was surprisingly easy to do and I just love the result!

Sunshine

My small daughter loves to draw and paint. Yesterday for the first time she actually managed to draw something "real"- a sun. How proud she was (me too, of course)- and she immediately started mass production.

Talking of kids- there are two blogs about kids rooms and other kids stuff that I like very much: http://wwwjojosroom.blogspot.com/ and http://www.thebooandtheboy.com/

Here one of the pictures from "jojosroom":

drawings for the girls

I made two drawings for the girls. It has been a long time since I drew something seriously. I would love to have more time for it. Anyway- I used black ink pens (pigma micron) on drawing paper and coloured parts afterwards with colour pencils (caran d'ache- supracolor). I love how you can paint over the colour pencils with water.

Now the pictures are framed and waiting to be put up on the wall.

toy-bags

Our bigger daughter is getting a new bed and since her room is tiny, we will have to find a solution for all het toys. I sew some bags (two so far and more will maybe follow) from nice cotton fabirc. She will be able to put her toys in there and then we can hang them on hooks on the wall.
