It is cold and grey here in Switzerland. Not much of a surprise...
After more than a week I am finally feeling better and I also have my voice back.
Despite the cold there are already some flowers in my parents garden. I have no idea how you call them in English... in German they are called "Schneeglocken"- snowbells.
I got an early birthday-present from my family- new colour-pencils from "Caran d'Ache". Looks like someone read my blog... I have already colour-pencils from the same company but they are a bit different. This should now give a push that I will start to draw again some more...

Tomorrow we will go to the mountains. My parents built a new chalet in Lenk where they already had an apartment for years. I am curious how it looks. And I hope that there will be some snow to enjoy.

from the archive

Some toys I sew for babies of friends and family members.

I am sick- We never had a winter like this with all of us being sick that much... we are usually quite a healthy bunch. And tomorrow we will fly to Switzerland. I just pray that I will feel better.
I am so excited to meet my small niece.
And of course I am looking very much forward to see my family and friends again. I also hope that there will be some snow in the Alps to enjoy.

Just trying to figure out how to post my pictures in a bigger size... looks like it is working.

I had a nice afternoon
beautiful weather
nice walk with the girls
Neomi painted a bit and I told stories to Helen
we had a peacefull dinner
Neomi helped to wash the dishes
Now the girls are sleeping and I am drinking chai
and baking cookies
received a batch of handmade, all natural soaps
the tulips on the table blossom nicely
I will soon go to bed and read a bit
and have an early night
I am happy

For those who wonder- my husband is in the army today (reserve duty). That's what he's doing every week for one day (or more precisely- night) and then the ladies of the house have a girl's evening.

tuesday's handmade

How about some fresh fish for lunch? Aren't they great? Talented Valentina from "raumdinge" made them and she has even a free tutorial (in German). I made some felt-vegetables for Neomi a while ago- but this could easily be my next project.

This sweet monkey is from the etsy-shop of "curls of sunshine"- you can also find other crocheted treasures in this shop.

And this is another thing I would like to make for my girls- a stick-horse. You can find this on the lovely blog "lightbluegrey" of Hetty from the Netherlands.

celebration of nature

After some rainy days we went for a walk in the Wadi yesterday. I would love to start every day with a walk like this. It's such a waist to sit in an office all day...
Now everything is so unbelievable green and new flowers blossom every day. The forest is full of cyclamen and anemones. New leaves are slowly starting to grow on the trees. We all wore gumboots and had lots of fun walking in the water.

I wish you all a wonderful week!

some time for myself

Since Helen was sick last week and I was at home with her I had some extra time for myself while she was napping. Since one year I am knitting on a sleeveless sweater for Neomi. I know- I am terribly slow and during the summer (which lasts at least 5 months here) I did not feel like knitting anyway.
So I am trying to finish this now.

I am also sewing a cover for Helen to cover her inside the stroler. We will go to Switzerland next week and we are not especially equipped for cold weather. So I hope that this will keep her a bit warm. It is not finished yet but I should be able to finish in the comming days.

Recently we are having a bit a hard time with Neomi. Already when she was small she was very headstrong. Now she is in a phase that is more difficult than ever. No matter how nicely you tell her not to do certain things, she is doing them anyway and again and again.
That leaves me many times helpless ( I am not showing this of course...) and it is very energy consuming. We have fights a few times a day- so I am very gratefull and happy if she plays for a while nicely for herself. She does have a lot of imagination :o)
Below she is pretending to be a photographer using my husbands tripod.

Some drawings from my "archive"...
Helen was sick almost all the week. Now she's fine again and I hope she will stay that way.

My weekend started- weekend in Israel is Friday and Saturday and on Sunday everyone goes back to work.
As usual I have too many plans...
